Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) Early Acceptance Programs (EAP)
Maryville University has partnered with LECOM to offer special Early Acceptance Programs to grant qualified students a provisional early acceptance to LECOM’s School of Pharmacy, School of Dental Medicine or College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Application to the EAP is separate from application to Maryville University. There are two ways to apply. You can apply as a high school senior or as a current Maryville undergraduate student. If you apply as a high school senior you must complete both the application for Maryville University Admissions AND the LECOM EAP application.
High School Senior Criteria
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Must not hold a bachelor’s degree or higher
- SAT Score (Math and Verbal Reasoning) greater than or equal to 1170 on a single exam taken before 3/1/16, a SAT of 1240 or higher on a single exam taken after 3/1/16 or an ACT Composite score greater than or equal to 26 on a single exam and AND a high school GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale or higher
Current Maryville University undergraduate student
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Must not hold a bachelor’s degree or higher
- Must have at least two years remaining as a full time student at Maryville
- SAT Score (Math and Verbal Reasoning) greater than or equal to 1170 on a single exam taken before 3/1/16, a SAT of 1240 or higher on a single exam taken after 3/1/16 or an ACT Composite score greater than or equal to 26 on a single exam AND a high school GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale or higher
- Must have at least a cumulative overall GPA of 3.2 and a science GPA of 3.1 or higher
Medical Programs
The LECOM phase of this program may be completed in Erie, PA, Greensburg, PA or in Bradenton, FL. Students enrolled in the EAP may be exempt from taking the MCAT. An AACOMAS application will not be required.
3+4 Track – A high school GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale and a SAT Score (Math and Verbal Reasoning) greater than or equal to 1250 on a single exam taken prior to 3/1/16, a SAT score of 1340 or higher on a single exam taken after 3/1/16 or an ACT Composite score greater than or equal to 28 on a single exam or higher is required for this Track. You must have a provisional letter of acceptance in the EAP before starting your second year at Maryville. Upon completing three years of undergraduate study and meeting certain GPA and other requirements, you enter LECOM the following July. LECOM graduates receive a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree. Maryville may award you a bachelor degree by utilizing credits from the courses taken while at LECOM.
4+4 Track – You must have a provisional letter of acceptance in the EAP before starting your third year at Maryville. Upon completing four years of undergraduate study and meeting certain GPA and other requirements, you enter LECOM the following July. LECOM graduates receive a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree.
Pharmacy Programs
The LECOM phase of these programs is four years in Bradenton, FL, three years in Erie, PA but is not available at Seton Hill. A distance education (DE) pathway is also available but with some restrictions. Please click here to learn more about the DE restrictions. EAP students are encouraged to take the PCAT but it is not required for admission.
2+ Track – You must have a provisional letter of acceptance in the EAP by February 1st of your first year at Maryville. Upon submitting a PharmCas application, completing two years of undergraduate study and meeting certain GPA and other requirements, you enter LECOM the following August. LECOM graduates receive a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) degree. A bachelor degree will not be awarded by Maryville.
3+ Track – You must have a provisional letter of acceptance in the EAP before starting your second year at Maryville. Upon submitting a PharmCas application, completing three years of undergraduate study and meeting certain GPA and other requirements, you enter LECOM the following August. LECOM graduates receive a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) degree. Maryville may award you a bachelor degree by utilizing credits from the courses taken while at LECOM.
4+ Track – You must have a provisional letter of acceptance in the EAP before starting your third year at Maryville. Upon submitting a PharmCas application, completing four years of undergraduate study and meeting certain GPA and other requirements, you enter LECOM the following August. LECOM graduates receive a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) degree.
Dental Program
4+4 Track – This program is only available in Bradenton, FL. You must have a provisional letter of acceptance in the EAP before starting your third year at Maryville. Upon submitting an AADSAS application, completing four years of undergraduate study, taking the DAT and successfully meeting certain GPA and other requirements, you enter LECOM’s School of Dental Medicine the following July. LECOM graduates receive a Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree.
